Help Soulisquoy Celebrate 40 Years With a New Logo!

For 40 years Soulisquoy has been dedicated to offering open access print facilities to professional artists, individuals and groups within Orkney from our studio in the centre of Stromness. Focusing on traditional forms of print our sunny studio has grown and developed over the years and we want you to be a part of this with us!

As part of our 40th anniversary celebration we are running a competition to let you, the community, design our new logo. As a local print studio our community means a lot to us and what better way than to say thank you than to have one lucky winner design our new logo. The winning logo will be used on a wide range of Soulisquoy materials including, but not limited to, banners, letterheads, business cards, publications, social media, our new website and many more.

As a reward the winning design will be made into a limited edition print and, depending on availability, we would like to invite the winner to have a go printing the design on our Columbian printing press.

Just like our print studio the competition is open to all, so whether you are a full time artist or a primary school pupil we want to see your ideas! There are just a couple of rules to keep in mind:

  • The logo has to work both in colour and black and white

  • The logo has to be an original design

  • The logo doesn’t need to feature the name ‘Soulisquoy Printmakers’ but can if you want it to.

  • The logo should be fairly simple as it needs to be printed across a range of sizes and mediums.

Submission:

  • Designs may be submitted in digital or paper forms

  • The design must be minimum of 10cm by 10cm (3”x3”)

  • Digital submissions should be in .jpg, .pdf or .png formats

  • Submissions should be sent to either info@soulisquoy.co.uk or Soulisquoy Printmakers, ℅ Buckquoy, Harray, Orkney, KW17 2JS

Submission deadline: 17:00 May 7th 2022

Soulisquoy Printmakers will receive all rights of image ownership of the selected winning submission. Soulisquoy Printmakers will endeavour to properly credit the original creator of the winning submission where possible and appropriate. The winner will be selected by a panel of those involved in Soulisquoy and the 40th year celebration.
