Lantern Project

October 2022- February 2023

The Lantern project was developed after the success of the Art Evolution Youth Project by Associates Jamilla Garrett, Arwen Haselden and Niamh Haselden.

Project Participants Eilidh Garrett, Jacinta Garrett, Mae Garrett and Orin Haselden were invited to take part in a series of workshops, with the aim of creating printed paper lanterns. This project was delivered over the course of 6 sessions. Starting with an introductory paper making workshop, participants went on to carve and print individual lino blocks. The final session focused on assembling and photographing our lanterns.

  • “I liked meeting new people and getting the opportunity to create art with others. I particularly enjoyed the printmaking and would like to do more in the future.”

    Orin Haselden

  • “I enjoyed having the chance to try papermaking and linocut. It was a new experience for me.”
